Elinor recently attended the launch event of MeVMe with a fashion show and nutritional advice, we would like to congratulate Kate and Jade on their new business venture.
Kate Swinson’s journey over the last 12 months from an ordinary gym-goer to contestant in a Physique Competition has inspired her and personal trainer Jade to create well-fitting workout clothes with ‘an edge’.
Kate – who achieved 4th place in her first ever physique competition last year – says: “Just over a year ago I started an 80-day lean body plan with Fitness Worx.”I was 35 and had never been happy with my body and I finally wanted to do something to change it. “Years slogging it out doing cardio exercises were soon forgotten as I started to transform the shape of my body through strength training and HIIT training. “I dropped from 24 per cent body fat to 17 per cent in just three months and was no longer pear shaped.”
The pair’s first collection, the Jet Range, was designed and manufactured in the UK and includes a body and leggings. Elinor purchased some MeVMe clothing at the launch and loves the style and fit.
Kate and Jade have undertaken considerable research to create pieces from heavier weight fabric than standard sportswear that provides compression support to reduce muscular vibrations during active sports and reduce stress on joints and tendons. Benefits to the wearer include a reduction in muscle damage, delayed muscle fatigue, improvement in prolonged performance, prevent swelling and help reduce muscle soreness post workout.
Kate continues: “The range was born out of a love for training but was inspired by the toughest competition in life. We believe that when you stop competing with others and start competing with yourself an amazing journey begins.”
The duo are currently working on the design and samples for their new collection that will be launched in May, and another one in the autumn.
The products are available to buy online from http://www.mevme.co.uk via Fitness Worx gyms and at pop up shops at various fitness events across the country.
