Author and client of Pentlands Anthony Cleary has written a book based on a true story of an (ultimately successful) endeavour to find, extract and adopt an infant from an ‘orphanage’ in post revolutionary Romania despite the unhelpful and sometime downright obstructive attitude of both the UK and the Romanian authorities.
Anthony read law at University. After a brief foray into advertising, he decided to return to the law and qualified as a solicitor, later becoming a District Judge. He is now a circuit judge, sitting on the Midland Circuit and lives with his wife and son in Warwickshire.
During the odyssey, the book recounts the poverty and corruption in the aftermath of the revolution, the horrors of Orphanage Number One in Bucharest, the indifference of the civil servants in the both countries to the plight of the infants, and the struggle to raise awareness in both jurisdictions of the damage being caused to the children by the delay caused by their obstruction.
The book also recounts the remarkable friendship which was forged with a Bucharest University graduate who offered his help as interpreter, guide and, ultimately, Godfather to the child who was rescued.
The book is currently available on Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nobody-Comes-Anthony-Cleary-ebook/dp/B00HOURTYO/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1389194229&sr=1-1&keywords=nobody+comes
Anthony is waiting to see how many reviews he can accumulate before he ventures into paper back.
Congratulations Anthony from Pentlands on a fantastic book and the courage to share your inspiring story.
