“I wanted an accountancy firm that were closer to home and would do a good professional job. My former accountant, who was based in East Anglia, retired after 23 years of working with me and Pentlands were recommended. I clearly remember the first time I walked into their offices for that initial meeting. It was a wonderful space and I felt completely at home.

The first challenge for them was to get the accounts filed in time but it all went smoothly. Taz was brilliant and managed the whole process; the accounts were produced and everything just fell into place. It was a huge relief. I knew I was in really safe hands. I also feel like I have gained a trusted friend which is a massive bonus.

One other benefit are their offices; Pentlands let their clients use their meeting room which is lovely. I work from home and it’s not always possible, or desirable, to invite clients into my home office. So the fact that Elinor is able to offer me that as a side benefit of being a client is actually extremely valuable to me. 

I really like their whole approach; the way they think about what an accountant can do for a company; the fact that they have different packages so it’s very clear what path you’re on as a business. They understand that a business needs different things at different stages of its evolution which is great.

Whenever I speak to someone at Pentlands, I always feel they know who I am and they care. For me, that’s priceless. They are very people orientated – that’s their great strength. I’m in a ‘people’ business as well so these things are important to me. It’s not rocket science but there are people in professional services who don’t see the human dimension as clearly as Pentlands do.”
