Directors, Naveed Qayyum and Mark Edwards, talk about the value they get from working with Pentlands.
Naveed: “I set the business up in 2018 and it quickly became apparent that we needed a new accountant who could deal with a business of our profile and size, who would ensure that the business was geared for growth and who would offer more than ‘just’ doing the books. We wanted to build a business that was digitally focused, modern and underpinned by robust systems and processes.
Mark: We’re in a complex industry with complex products but we wanted somebody who could help us be fit for purpose. All the initial conversations we had with Pentlands showed they understood what we were looking to achieve in terms of the numbers and the process behind the numbers.
Naveed: In the years USL has been trading, we’ve had two years of a global pandemic and over a year of an energy crisis to deal with. We’ve navigated that really well as a business but it’s nice knowing you’ve got an accountancy firm with you every step of the way.
Mark: It isn’t just a transactional relationship either. Pentlands have helped us build strong foundations to support our rapid growth but there’s a personal element as well. Elinor really enjoys seeing our business progress. I genuinely feel she wants us to do well.
