This year marks the 26th year of Pentlands being in business and we have lived with the square burgundy box for just over 15 years. In a team meeting last January, Elinor looked at the blinds on the window and she decided it was time for a change?
Bringing the Pentlands brand up to date to reflect the expert and friendly team behind the name, was where it started and the first thing we did was talked to our client rbl brand agency. We wanted to refresh the brand and ensure it demonstrated our expertise and ambition as a team alongside our friendly personality.
Pentlands offers support with your day-to-day accounts to strategic advice for bigger business decisions. However, the value we were adding wasn’t being clearly demonstrated and was hidden behind a confusing offer and out-of-date identity.
Using the Brand Lite process from rbl, developed with a smaller business in mind, they conducted interviews with the team and clients to find out what they really thought of our branding.
With their feedback from these conversations, rbl helped us to define our offer which is now broken down into three simple headings: Manage, Grow and Maximise. They also developed a refreshed messaging platform that clearly explains who Pentlands are and the value we add to businesses of all sizes, beyond accounting alone.
As Pentlands strives to make life as easy as possible for its clients, the new identity introduces some little characters who visually demonstrate the support provided. As these characters explore the words, they illustrate the three areas of the business ‘manage’, ‘grow’ and ‘maximise’.
